Run by the National Trust, this campsite was incredible. Such friendly staff. Plenty of room to spread out. Clean toilets and showers. Shop next to toilets open in the day time and selling beer/wine etc as well as emergency supplies (I forgot a lighter). I stayed for three days and didn't need to leave the valley. You can hike up to what was once a Roman fort, which also has insane views across whole valley and I think out to the sea. There is a lovely walk along fern covered streams and waterfalls near the train station. Or my favourite which was the walk to the tongue pot wild swimming spot. There are 2 pubs near the campsite, both were lovely.
